Our industrial coatings team is providing inspection services on a 12 bridge rehabilitation project for the Biltmore Estate. The rehabilitation project will include six of the structures on the estate in total. This project consists of granite stone removal on the Biltmore bridges, lead abatement, a new coating system, shotcrete repairs, joint replacements, deck overlays, and steel repairs.
Route location and survey project containing 8,000 linear feet of existing roadway, 1,000 linear feet of hydrographic survey, stormwater features and utilities. Summit established GPS control and Baseline traverse station positions and elevations, collected pavement and supplemental DTMs, and located topo/planemetric features. Survey data was collected using GPS, conventional survey and High-Density Laser scans. Final Survey and associated DTM TIN files submitted to Summit Roadway Design group.
Summit provided both contract administration and inspection services on this municipal project. This project started with the demolition of a 95-year-old, fivespan bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railroad. A 150-foot, single-span structure was constructed to replace the deteriorated bridge and allow for future railroad track additions. We monitored all construction operations providing daily field reports; materials received reports and pay estimates, as well as sampling and testing of all materials in accordance with NCDOT requirements. Our contract administration duties included but were not limited to bid tabulations, facilitating project meetings, coordinating submittal distribution, monitoring DBE participation, change orders and pay application approval and processing.
