Summit’s Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspections department provides industry-leading Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) testing and inspections services for various market sectors including: education, healthcare, industrial, commercial and multi-family residential developments. We have a large team of knowledgeable inspectors and experienced engineers who demonstrate a deep-rooted understanding of material testing standards, inspections, building codes and construction techniques.

Our inspectors and professionals maintain various industry-leading certifications through the American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Code Council (ICC), American Welding Society (AWS) and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). Summit can also provide AWS-CWI and ASNT services and an array of various Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).


Summit Laboratories

The framework for our QA/QC program is built upon a number of industry standards, such as: AASHTO R18, ASTM E329, ASTM C1077 and ASTM D3740. In addition to this, Summit’s two (2) state-of-the-industry materials testing laboratories are both fully accredited through AASHTO Resource (formerly AMRL), CCRL and NCDOT Tier I and II. This consists of participating in a rigorous Laboratory Assessment Program (LAP), yearly Proficiency Sample Programs (PSP) and the AASHTO Accreditation Program (AAP).
