Maintaining the highest quality of excellence requires the daily dedication and attention of our Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspections (SI) professionals, but they are more than up to the challenge.
Our diverse staff of Professional Engineers, Engineering Interns, engineering inspectors and technicians work together to provide industry-leading inspection services for a variety of projects and markets. We have over 170 certified and cross-certified inspectors and technicians throughout the southeast and Atlantic coast, and we have two in-house laboratories dedicated solely to our projects. With our CMT/SI department behind you, you can be sure your project will be inspected with thorough excellence.
Our CMT/SI department provides professional services for various market sectors including: education, healthcare, industrial, commercial and multi-family residential developments. We have a large team of knowledgeable inspectors and experienced engineers who demonstrate a deep-rooted understanding of material testing standards, building codes and construction techniques.
Our inspectors and professionals maintain various industry-leading certifications through the American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Code Council (ICC), American Welding Society (AWS) and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). Summit can also provide AWS-CWI and ASNT services and an array of various Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
We maintain multiple fully-accredited materials testing laboratories staffed with people who are as comfortable in the lab as they are in the field.
The framework for our quality management program is built upon a number of industry standards including AASHTO R18, ASTM E329, ASTM C1077 and ASTM D3740. Summit’s two (2) state-of-the-industry materials testing laboratories are both fully accredited through AASHTO Resource (formerly AMRL), CCRL and NCDOT Tier I and II. This consists of participating in a rigorous Laboratory Assessment Program (LAP), yearly Proficiency Sample Programs (PSP) and the AASHTO Accreditation Program (AAP).
And if our qualifications aren’t enough, our team is communicative, friendly, and consistent. When we work your job, you will see the same faces every day on site, and our project manager will only be a phone call away. We maintain these extensive technical and personal qualifications to be the best possible member of your project team.
