We provided Geotechnical Engineering, Special Inspections and Construction Materials Testing for this three-story, 100,000-square foot, steel-framed building. The school building stands on the site of the original Northside School, which played a prominent role in the history of segregated schools in Chapel Hill. The building is meant to not only be a place of learning, but a place to support a thriving community and showcase the historic vibrance of the neighborhood.
We provided the Geotechnical Engineer of Record, soils and construction materials sampling and laboratory testing, which included inspection of concrete testing, structural steel welding inspections of the steel-braced frames, structural masonry inspections of the cafeteria and auditorium framing walls and reinforced concrete inspections for the column and wall footings, foundation walls and lightweight concrete composite deck slabs.
We provided Land Development, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Testing and Surveying services for the Oxford Preparatory School The new building contains 20 classrooms, including three science labs, a music room, and a gymnasium with a 440-person seating capacity.
We are the Geotechnical Engineer and Special Inspector of Record for the new Plant Sciences Building on NC State University’s Centennial Campus. Our services include subsurface drilling, field and laboratory testing of materials, and Special Inspections per Chapter 17 of the North Carolina Building Code.
