We are the Geotechnical Engineer and Special Inspector of Record for the new Plant Sciences Building on NC State University’s Centennial Campus. This $160,200,000, five-story, 199,000-square-foot building contains research labs, office space, corporate lab/office suites, hearth/atrium space, conference space and rooftop greenhouses. Our services include subsurface drilling, field and laboratory testing of materials, and Special Inspections per Chapter 17 of the North Carolina Building Code. This building will be a state-of-the-art facility to research the challenges of agriculture, agribusiness, food production, disease resistance and climate change. Summit is proud to be a part of this huge step forward into the research of agriculture and sustainability.
We provided services for the brand new Eno River Academy High School located in Hillsborough, NC. This is a 48,000 square foot facility situated on 34 acres that includes classrooms, offices, and laboratories among other ammenities. Summit provided site plans, surveying, construction materials testing, and geotechnical engineering services.
Summit provided geotechnical engineering, Special Inspections and construction materials testing for this three-story, 100,000-square foot, steel-framed building with a reinforced concrete retaining foundation wall which divides the upper and lower elevations of this 60-foot structure. The school building was designed to be a place of learning, support a thriving community and a showcase for the many cultural activities in a vibrant, historic neighborhood.
