Our team provided on-call CEI and Construction Management services to the Town of Pittsboro for the construction of the Freedom Parkway Extension Culvert. This extension is a part of the new Chatham Park Community that when complete will be over 7,000 acres of housing, retail, recreation, and offices. Summit’s inspectors are monitoring waterline installation, culvert construction, erosion control maintenance, storm drain installation, and asphalt repair.
We were the prime consultant on the Town of Hillsborough’s Riverwalk, a collection of urban greenways along the historic Eno River that total 1.8 miles. The Riverwalk is popular for walking, jogging and cycling, and it provides pedestrian connections between local neighborhoods and downtown.
We provided both contract administration and inspection services on this municipal project. The original five-span Mickley Avenue bridge had significantly deteriorated after 95 years of use. The original bridge was replaced with a 150-foot, single-span structure.
There is an art to designing in Hillsborough, a small town with a big history. When Hillsborough wanted to connect its local people with the beautiful nature areas around town, we helped them develop the Riverwalk, a collection of scenic sidewalks and greenways that connect downtown with the proper outdoors.
