We helped renovate and expand the Walker’s Funeral Home located in Mebane, NC, by providing architectural, surveying, land development and geotechnical engineering services. The Walker family has been in the funerary business for almost 100 years, and the Mebane branch is an extension of the original Hillsborough branch. The original building’s interior was falling into disrepair, and the owners wished to also provide chapel services to better serve their community.
Our architectural design was for a 3,000(+/-) square-foot (SF) chapel addition, a conditioned breezeway connector to the original building, and interior alterations to the original building. After construction began, it was discovered the original building’s structure was failing and was demolished. The building was replaced with a new 2,600 SF funeral service and showroom space. Our survey, land development and geotechnical engineering teams engaged during the actual construction of the design. With nearly all building/site services performed in-house, the project delivery process was streamlined and had no delays.
We provided architectural design, structural and geotechnical engineering and civil/site design services for this proposed 20,000 square-foot (+/-) Class A Office Building located in Hillsborough, North Carolina. The building could potentially hold up to three different businesses in distinctive suites, yet the interiors of those spaces are suited for flexible collaboration between employees.
We are the current Architect of Record for the State Employees' Credit Union. Our architecture team developed three (3) new prototypes for North Carolina locations ranging from 6,500 square feet to 10,000 square feet. Each location requires different services and different qualifications which meant our teams quickly learned how to adapt to our client’s needs on the ground.
The Orange County ABC project consisted of designing and constructing a new, 14,250-square-foot warehouse and upfitting the existing office building. This location serves as the storage and central distribution point for all Orange County ABC locations, so it needed to fulfill both its warehouse functions and the necessary office functions in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
