Project Description
The Walker's Funeral Home project in Mebane, NC consisted of both design and a completed set of construction documents. The design was for a 3,000(+/-) SF Chapel addition, a conditioned breezeway connector and interior alterations. The interior alterations were completed on 2,600 SF of first floor space in the building. Summit's architecture team completed both the design work for this project and the construction administration. Other Summit services involved in this project include surveying, land development and geotechnical engineering.

Our team provided architectural design, structural and geotechnical engineering and civil/site design services for this proposed 20,000 square-foot (+/-) Class A Office Building located in Hillsborough, North Carolina.

Summit is currently providing architectural services to new branches of State Employees’ Credit Union in multiple locations around the state including, Arden, Newland, Marshall, Asheville, Statesville, New Bern, Wilmington, Sanford, Greenville, Roanoke Rapids and Apex, among others. These new buildings range from 6,500 square feet to 10,000 square feet. Services provided included the following: architecture, Geotechnical Engineer of Record, soils and construction materials sampling and laboratory testing, structural engineering, civil/site design and construction administration to SECU locations statewide. Most of these projects are still under construction.

For these projects, the office space was an adaptive reuse design with the interior fully altered to meet the owner’s requirements. The warehouse joined to the office space was a new “ground-up” construction. We designed both spaces based upon the specific criteria of the ABC County Board and this particular location’s staff. We renovated and re-worked the mail area, lobby area, copy area, office area, and conference room area to meet the work-flow needs of this specific location. We designed and constructed the warehouse and loading area to match ABC’s particular codes and standards for shipping and receiving. Our accessible and functional design balanced the dual functions of this site.
