Summit is currently providing one Level III Technician on this bridge replacement project as part of the district-wide on-call contract. The project involves replacing the John Blue Bridge which carries WV Route 28 over the South Potomac River with a 478 ft., 3-span, steel girder bridge that features 9 ft. diameter drilled pier foundations, 8 ft. diameter columns and monolithic hammer head caps. The project also involves associated bridge approaches, paving, pavement markings and all other work required to tie the new bridge into the existing roadway. Construction cost is $12.5M.

Summit is the Prime Construction Engineering and Inspection firm (CEI) providing contract administration and inspection on behalf of the N.C. Department of Transportation and the N.C. Turnpike Authority for the Toll NC-540 project, also known as the Southeast Extension.
